What BestPlaces Users Say about Vineland

Context:
Vineland is a city in southern New Jersey known for its agricultural heritage and diverse community. With a population of over 60,000, it offers a suburban feel with easy access to major cities like Philadelphia and Atlantic City. But what do the residents themselves have to say about living in Vineland? Let's take a look at some user reviews from BestPlaces.net to get a better understanding of what it's like to call this city home.

User Reviews:
According to Hunter from New Jersey, "Vineland is a great place to live and raise a family. It has a small-town charm with all the amenities you need." This sentiment is echoed by another user, Heather, who states, "I love the sense of community in Vineland. People are friendly and always willing to lend a helping hand."

However, not all reviews are positive. Joe, a resident of Vineland for 10 years, shares, "The cost of living is relatively high and there isn't much to do in terms of entertainment. It can also get very hot in the summer." Similarly, Janine expresses her disappointment with the job market, saying, "It's difficult to find well-paying jobs in Vineland. Most people have to commute to other cities for work."

Despite these challenges, many residents still appreciate what Vineland has to offer. As John puts it, "I've lived in Vineland my whole life and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. There's a strong sense of community and pride in this city." Overall, it seems that Vineland is a desirable place to live for those seeking a close-knit community and a slower pace of life.

While I will admit the location is great, close to beaches, close to Philadelphia and New York and other attractions Vineland itself has become a socio/economic disaster. Once a thriving industrial glassware mecca Vineland and the neighboring towns have lost many manufacturing jobs only to be left with many low paying service jobs and a high unemployment rate. Job growth percentage is in the negative. Although many city officials will tell you there are and have been many companies coming into the area what they are not telling you is how many have left.

The low costs of housing and relatively low property taxes (compared to other areas of the state) has been great in one respect but has lead to many less desirable persons moving to the area adding an increase in crime and adding additional burdens to the school system. The school system has cut back funding for various school activities Read More
