Perfect place if only there were good jobs - 10/14/2020
I have lived in or near Chili for over 40 years . I was lucky to find my dream job here. I also lived in SanAntonio Texas and toured most countries in Europe. I can say that Chili NY and the surrounding areas are excellent for raising a family. Safe, plenty to do, good schools, excellent universities, wonderful churches, the best medical care. The only negative and it is a terrible situation is the liberal government that kills home values and jobs with high taxes. The highest in the country. These high taxes over the years have killed businesses to the point that most children need to move out of state to find good jobs breaking up families. Both my children have and most everyone I know has one or two children living out of state. I would have a serious conversation about this before moving here. Having kids and grand kids living out of state is a difficult issue that separates families. Read More

Great place to raise a family - 2/2/2017
We lived in Chili, NY for almost 20 years. We had to relocate for jobs. If that weren't the case, we would most likely still be living there.
The area has grown so much since the late 90's. It was very rural when we bought our first house there. Since then, there are new neighborhoods being constructed, new restaurants and businesses, especially a great coffee shop . . . Jitters!
The town is minutes from the expressways, and for us, a minimal commute, 20-30 minutes, give or take. Three libraries very close, a newer ymca, wegmans (more than one to choose from), and many parks. The parks and rec center has grown by leaps and bounds since it's been under new employment. Many activities are offered, after school programs, summer camp, and pre-k programs.
There are also sports programs for kids, in school, through the rec center, and town associations. Also independently owned opportunities like gymnastics, martial arts, dance, etc.
I can't say enough praise Read More
