Farmingdale - A pleasant residential small town. - 10/23/2007
I don't really know too much about the cost of living here. I am renting a 3-bedroom house for $2400/month. This is a residential area of neat homes and a business area of about 4 blocks. It has a quiet and pleasant feeling. There are inexpensive stores in shopping centers nearby: Costco, WalMart, BJ's, Home Depot, etc. There are also branches of the large New York City department stores: Bloomingdales, Macy's, and other more expensive stores. The City (New York) is 40 miles away and is a reasonable drive if it's not near rush
