great place to raise a family/grow up - 11/19/2009
I grew up in Sherrill. Now I have a family and unfortunately I still do not live there. I am in the process of trying to find a place like it and I am having no luck. I am finding may villages that have some similar aspects but nothing like Sherrill. When I was a kid (and it's still like this today as I go and visit about once a month to see my mother) all I needed was a bike. My friends and I played pick up games constantly down at the park, weather it be football, basketball, tennis... Also there is a YMCA (we used to call it the CAC, I still do as it will always be the CAC to me) with a 12 or 15 lane bowling alley, basketball court and weight room. There's also a great 18 hole golf course that Eddie Niles, Steve Bielicki and I used to sneak on all the time. Al Glover who ran the course would always let us play but always reminded us to let the old guys play through. We would also go down to the crick (creek in other parts of the country) and dive for golf balls. Sit up on Read More
