What BestPlaces Users Say about Concord

Concord, North Carolina is a city located in Cabarrus County, just northeast of Charlotte. With a population of over 90,000, it is the second largest city in the Charlotte Metropolitan Area. The city boasts a mix of small town charm and urban amenities, making it an attractive place to live for many. In order to gain a better understanding of what it is like to live in Concord, I have summarized various user reviews from BestPlaces.net.

According to John, who has lived in Concord for over 20 years, the city has a "great sense of community" and is "perfect for raising a family." He also notes that the cost of living is reasonable and there are plenty of job opportunities in the area. Similarly, Sarah has lived in Concord for 5 years and praises the "friendly and welcoming atmosphere" of the city. She also mentions the abundance of outdoor activities, such as parks and hiking trails, which make it a great place for nature lovers.

On the other hand, Robert has a more negative experience living in Concord. He states that the city has a "lack of diversity" and there is "not much to do" for entertainment. He also mentions issues with traffic and overcrowding in certain areas. Another user, Michelle, also expresses concerns about the traffic in Concord and notes that the public transportation system could use improvement.

Overall, it seems that the majority of users have positive things to say about living in Concord, citing factors such as the community, cost of living, and outdoor activities. However, it is important to note that there are also some concerns raised about the lack of diversity and issues with traffic. Ultimately, each individual's experience may vary, but it seems that Concord offers a mix of both pros and cons for potential residents.

Help me to decide on concord, NC - 4/14/2015
I am looking to relocate due to a new job offer in north Carolina. Ive narrowed my search of cities down to Concord. Some of my concerns coming from California is how is the cost of living? of course here it is ridiculously high so i am looking for a new place to start my family. Is it a pretty diverse city? we are a mixed race family (white/mexican) in our late 20's so i am concerned about finding a welcoming city. Also would you feel Concord is pretty safe as far as crime goes? i appreciate any insight anyone might have to help me Read More

Up and coming city for 2015 - 4/9/2015
I recently just moved to Concord, NC from long island. The people are more than polite. The Weather is amazing and the cost of living is reasonable and affordable. I have only been here for about 4 months and the city is growing new buildings from apartments to restaurants and retail businesses and office complexes. This city is very up and coming. Maybe the people below that commented negatively are just upset because of how much growth the cities is experiencing. Maybe they were just used to there old small quiet town but this growth is good, bringing more money into the town as well as new jobs to the area. They are right about everyone moving here it is a giant melting pot. I love the area I lived in NY my whole life and haven't seen as much growth as Concord.Believe it or not they do have great pizza down here, nice malls good food and I hope the growth continues.

Hell on earth - 12/18/2011
North Carolina Is very boring. If you want to move to a small town with alot of nice people concord is not the place. Im dying to get out of NC because people are moving down here from all over the place and act like fools just because "its the south" and 90% of them have no real southern roots. most the kids I went to school with are total jerks fells like you cant trust Read More

nice town - 8/16/2010
Ive lived in the area for 15 years. It has grown tremendously during that time. It is mostly a bedroom community for Charlotte. However, it has a very distinct downtown with beautiful homes and historic areas. The school system is above average. 3 new high schools have opened over the past 10 years. The Northwest part of the county tends to get the greatest acclaim regarding living and schools. Afton Village is a newer "mixed-use" development with charming homes and shops and restaurants locals walk to. Overall Concord is a nice place to live. The biggest challenges in the future will be road congestion and school Read More

Growing for the sake of growth - 1/17/2007
It was a beautiful small town 20 years ago...sadly, it has had many changes none of which I admire. Increased traffic, more crime, more police, increased taxes, all of these are related and will continue to grow.
We now have a new prison being built right in the middle of town in the historic Read More

A Place to Raise a Family - 4/17/2006
Having lived here for nearly five years, I would just like to let everyone know what a great place Concord is to raise a family. The people are friendly, hard-working and seem to have the family first mentality that we have. This is definitely the place we want all three of our children to grow Read More
