Huntersville, NC is a great place to live and visit. It is known for its small-town charm and its unique attractions. There are plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy such as golf, hiking, fishing, and camping. The downtown area is filled with boutiques, restaurants, and other local businesses. For visitors there are many historical sites and museums to explore. The city also boasts numerous parks and recreational areas providing plenty of space for outdoor activities.

People love the wide range of activities available throughout the city - from shopping in the downtown area to visiting local parks or strolling through historic neighborhoods. Huntersville is located in northern Mecklenburg county, and is directly north of Charlotte. The city borders the southern shores of Lake Norman. The population of Huntersville in 1990 was around 3,000 residents, today it surpasses 40,000 residents. The city is popular because of it being close to Charlotte but far enough away to be its own city. The growth has been phenomenal over the past few years (as with many NC towns and cities near Raleigh and Charlotte). The city completed a major shopping/residential area known as 'Birkdale Village' a few years ago. It is now the model of current and future development of the surrounding areas. Birkdale offers a small town feel inside a city complete with shops with condos on top, and a movie theatre. The city is now planning to annex several square miles to its east as the city feels the need to continue to expand to support its continued growth.
