Kitty Hawk, Duck and Southern Shores are the best - 2/27/2008
There are many areas on the coast of NC to retire, however, none compares to the communities that make up the 27949 zip code. We enjoy a much less transient population as well as close knit schools, churches and volunteer organizations. Anyone looking for a community to become a part of should consider this area. Our beautiful beaches, well kept golf courses and quiet village lifestyle are attractive for families or retirement. We are about 1.5 hours for the busy Norfolk
