Cincinnati, Ohio is a major city located in the southwestern region of the state. However, like any city, there are both positive and negative aspects of living in Cincinnati. User Reviews:

1) From user "JohnDoe", "I have lived in Cincinnati for over 10 years and I absolutely love it here. The people are friendly, the food scene is amazing, and there are always new events and festivals to attend. The cost of living is affordable and there are plenty of job opportunities. I can't imagine living anywhere else."

2) On the other hand, user "JaneSmith" shares a different experience, stating, "I moved to Cincinnati for work and have been disappointed with the lack of diversity and the high crime rates in certain areas. The cost of living is also higher than I expected. I'm looking to relocate soon."

3) Another user, "CincyNative", gives a local perspective, saying, "I was born and raised in Cincinnati and I have seen the city go through some major changes. While there are still some rough areas, overall the city is thriving and there is always something new to discover. The sports teams and riverfront area are definitely highlights."

4) Finally, user "TravelBug" shares a unique perspective, having recently moved to Cincinnati. They state, "I relocated to Cincinnati from a much larger city and I have been pleasantly surprised. The cost of living is significantly lower and there is still plenty to do. I've also noticed a strong sense of community here which has made the transition easier."

In summary, user reviews about living in Cincinnati vary, with some praising the city for its friendly people, affordable cost of living, and diverse culture, while others express concerns about crime rates and lack of diversity. However, most reviewers agree that the city offers a variety of opportunities and attractions for its residents. From a local's perspective to that of a recent transplant, it seems that Cincinnati has something to offer for everyone.

I love it here! - 3/13/2006
I am a east coast girl and moved here from Philly and absolutely love Cincinnati. I live in downtown and find this city very pedestrian friendly. I wish there was a downtown grocery store but there are many convenience stores around the city. There are two Walgreens and three CVS downtown plus many mom and pop shops. The downtown is a mess to some regard right now because the center of the city called Fountain Square is being redeveloped but I hear it is suppose to be nice when done this summer. The art scene here was surprising. When I thought of Cincinnati I didn't think of art but wow. The Art Museum, Taft Museum of Art and the wonderful Contemporary Art center swept me off my feet when I moved here. My boyfriend loves sports so it is nice to walk to the Reds or Bengals stadiums. There is a great nightlife scene in the neighborhoods called Over-the-Rhine and Mt. Adams although I prefer a neighborhood called Northside. It has a wonderful feeling like I am back home in Read More

Middling Backwater - 2/7/2006
Mark Twain said that he would move to Cincinnati if the world were ending because everything happens here 10 years later. It's the same today. Cincinnati is a stodgy, repressive town that likes to try to play in the big leagues.

It's a classic mediocrity. Nothing is as bad as it could be here, but nothing is as good as it could be, and what makes it frustrating is the smugness and complacency of the locals. This is why ethnic polarazation intensifies, the schools deteriorate, the economy incrementally weakens and crime is beginning to take on the proportions of real big cities.

Cincinnati has a certain amount of culture in form, and there is a certain amount of technical proficiency in various disciplines, but the scene is short on depth and authenticity. The city is not progressive, and the people tend to be clannish, petty and peevish, and can tend to be rude - often in a "nasty-nice" way. I am a native, and my reason for investigating this site Read More

Reality Check-Don't Move Here Unless... - 1/23/2006
If you live here for most of your life and want to expand, this is not the place for you. Local government is moving slow to re-build the city. The River front is more important to city council than working on the schools and crime. I am so ready to go because there are no good jobs here besides legal or medical facilities. Most people go to across the bridge to Kentucky for a good night life. The racial tension still mounts after the riots and seems to be getting worse. The communities are seperated from rich, poor, Black, White and Hispanic. I live in an affluent neighborhood and being of color, I am looked at like " What are you doing out here? You must be visiting!" The city isn't what it used to be. Pretty much, welcome to the Read More

"Big City with the Small Town Feel" title undeserv - 1/12/2006
I moved here from a small town in Ohio (St. Marys--population 12,000) three years ago. I can tell you that living in Cincinnati is NOTHING like living in a small town. The people here are as rude as in any other city I've visited, traffic is horrible, and the schools are miserable. Those who can afford it send their kids to private schools, because the only public schools that are safe and decent are located in areas like Wyoming and Madeira, which are unaffordable to most people. Don't get me wrong, there are some pluses to living here: interesting neighborhoods with lots of gorgeous, turn-of-the-century architecture, great restaurants, and plenty of things to do if you've got kids (King's Island amusement park, The Beach, the Children's Theater, Madcap Puppet Theater, etc.) But as I said, this place is NOTHING like a small Read More
