Amazing cultural amenities - 12/9/2010
How underrated Cleveland is! Within a 30 minute drive, I have easy access to one of the world's best orchestras (the Cleveland Orchestra under the baton of Franz Welser-Molst), the Cleveland Museum of Art, the Botanical Gardens, the seven (or is it eight?) incredible theaters of Playhouse Square Foundation, which is the largest theater complex in the U.S. outside of NYC, and numerous smaller venues and resources including the Cleveland Institute of Music, the Cleveland Cinematheque, and great jazz clubs. Of course, now that I've posted this, will we be overrun by newcomers?

All mannnnn! This Place is... well let's just say sad ! Get away from Cleveland as quick as possible and do not think twice about what you've done. Oh gosh, where do I start! Schools (F), Crime (F), Weather (F-), Property Up-Keep(yikes), People self-motivation (F), Politicians (F) (All on parole), Hospitals (B)"thanks to Cleveland Clinic". Competing only with Detroit. Detroit - 85% need demolished, Cleveland - 80% need demolished. So bad here that this City need a ""BASKETBALL PLAYER"" to stay in order for the city to move forward or better yet to even have hope!! They care more about a ""BASKETBALL PLAYER"" than there schools, homes, community....etc! Bottom line stay, stay, stay as far away from this place as possible. Community, Quaint yet progressive - 10/2/2007
Cleveland Heights is a wonderful town. It's close to top-rated health care hospitals (Cleveland Clinic and University Hospitals), has a very diverse population with whites, black and Jews, and young and old. There are parks within walking distance that offer opportunities for play, recreation and cultural events. All the benefits of being close to a University, Case Western Reserve is abundant. Also downtown Cleveland is not even 10 mins. away, and one can find events and things to do every weekend during the summer: Festivals, Rock N'Roll Hall of Fame, Cleveland Botanical Gardens, Cleveland MetroParks Zoo, Lolly-the-Trolley. Amazing Place - 4/6/2007
We just purchased a home in Cleveland Heights after considering the community for a year and then seriously looking for six months.
We are empty nesters so we really wanted to leave our outer suburban community for an area that had cultural, entertainment, dining and basic shopping within walking distance. We also wanted an area that was demograhically diverse.
Cleveland Heights offers everything from mansions to multi-family dwellings in plentiful numbers.
Basically, the community has its greatest in the 1920-30's. There are three major commercial regions in the city each of which are well maintained and have everything from auto shops to Yoga centers. The roads are a combination of minimal grid and lots of curving streets making for a really neat feeling. I am reminded of the best of West Harford, Connecticut coupled with Chevy Chase or Bethesda, Maryland.

Despite being a suburb of Cleveland, Cleveland Heights doesn't have a strip mall feel. It's charming, quaint and full of life. Housing is reasonably priced.
