Columbus, Ohio - fine living - 2/27/2006
Living in Columbus is not as bad as I keep thinking it is. We have moved to several cities over the last few years, and always end up back in Columbus as 'home base'. There are lots of arts, downtown living is really improving, and people are diverse and friendly. All this with a reasonable cost of Read More

About Columbus - 7/11/2005
Columbus has it's definite good points: Lots of attractions, museums, culture, sports, music, art. It also has a number of colleges and universities.

However, Columbus does have traffic problems. Traffic going into and coming out of Columbus during rush hour can prove to be stressful. There is also not enough parking in the downtown and down town vicinty.

Columbus has a public bus system (www.cota.com). It runs everyday of the week and goes to a lot of places. The average time between buses is from 15 - 30 minutes. On Sundays the buses only run once an hour and stop running at 7pm.

As a student myself, I think Columbus is a good place for students. You can travel mostly by bus if needed, and there are a lot of great events to go to. There are also a lot of other students in the city ( Ohio State University has 57,000 of them) so it's a good place to meet new people.

Columbus, Ohio - 7/8/2005
Columbus is a wonderful city for a family. It is a growing city, always expanding into the cornfields, which many people are fighting. The city is almost quaint in its overall theme. People raise families, work and generally just live here. If you are into a simple, sedentary life, this is the place for you. If you don't know what a Mid-west ideal is, visit Columbus. Columbus is also a big "test" city. So companies are constanly introducing new products here, unbeknowst to most of the residents. Pizza, McDonalds and restaurants are some of the biggest test itmes you see. People like to eat here. I believe we have the most fast food restaurants per capita. Its disgusting. Columbus is a relatively cheap place to live. I'm from Jersey and I almost wet my pants when I learned my car insurance was going down 40%!!

On the other hand the climate is OK. Winters are not that bad. Is doesn't snow that much, not as bad as Cleveland. Snow removal is horrible though. Read More
