Life in small town NW Ohio - 7/13/2014
Living in NW Ohio is living in typical rural America. I guess it depends on what you are looking for in a lifestyle. Housing costs are relatively low, electricity is cheap, property taxes are reasonable. Like everywhere else food and gasoline are on the rise. There are 2 hospitals in Defiance that serve the area. My problem is lack of interesting things to do. To eat at a good restaurant requires a drive of an hour or more. The same for a concert, pro sporting events, theater, symphony etc. The winters can be brutal, -35 this past winter with a wind that seems to blow all winter long. Crime is pretty low I'd say. Most people still respect others and their property. People are friendly and willing to lend a hand. Read More
