It's a safe and friendly environment for my kids to grow up in." Utilities - 8/24/2009
New Miami Water Department bill, $30.60 for water, $25.17 for sewer, $12.50 for trash removal, and $3.00 for stormwater, for the month of July.

Common bill, mirrors every other bill, almost down to the penny. Here's the problem...
I spent almost the entire month of July in Keene Valley, New York. I have a septic tank, and I had my children in June, (with a inflatible pool) using an absorbant amount of water.

July's bill should of been really small when compared to June's, but they are EXACT. Plus, having a septic tank, I don't utilize sewer or stormwater.

No Police Force - 8/24/2009
Since the New Miami Village Council disbanded their own police force, they have been "renting" the Butler county sheriff's department. One detail officer to enforce the codes and ordinances of New Miami, and only during his shift. We still rely upon Butler County Sheriff's department for emergency calls, but Butler County's codes and ordinances are more vague, thus the other covering officers cannot enforce local codes. Ie: there exists a "loud car stereo noise" ordianance. During the summer, cars cruise around with stereos pumping. The Butler County sheriff's department cannot enforce this code, unless its late at night and would be considered "disorderly conduct", or disturbing the peace.
