A nice small town...with issues. - 8/20/2020
There is much I love about living just outside of Collinsville, but there are things I definitely don't as well. Most people complain about the smell of the rendering plant, not me. It was there before I moved here, I have no right to complain about it. I'm not crazy about the high school though. I really do not feel my child receives the education he should be getting. The lower grade schools were fine, but the high school is definitely lacking. My son is getting good grades, but really not learning anything (particularly in computers where their curriculum is way behind.) This is why we have moved him to Owasso HS.

Then of course there's the issues with the electric bills and the water plant. There has been a distinct problem with the water since I moved here 20 years ago an for 20 years people have been told there's nothing wrong with the water. Really? It smells more of chlorine than my pool does. And the electric bills keep going up and up and up. If you ask about it Read More

Utilities!!!! - 4/16/2010
The utilities in Collinsville are very high. We pay twice as much for the water services then we did while living in Tulsa. If you live in the City of Collinsville you can only get power & water services from them. My opinion about Collinsville is that, if you can't afford between $300.00-$500.00 a month on utilities in the summer and $200.00+ in the winter (that's for a modest 3 bedroom home,i can't imagine if our house were bigger) , don't move here. If I would have know the cost before I moved here I would never have bought a house in Collinsville. Collinsville also has a very bad stray animal problem-cats and dogs. The grocery store here is small, dirty and the prices are outrageous. I have also heard from long time residents that there is a huge drug problem too. But I don't know from personal experiance. Now,I will say that in the time of need, the fire & police department have done a good job, and we really do appreciate them! So please, learn from our mistakes. Research these Read More
