How bad is the fire smoke in the summer? - 3/28/2022
My son and his family are looking at a job transfer from Medford where fire smoke is getting nearly unbearable. I told him it’s bad in this area too, but what do the locals say?
Fire smoke from the Salem area Carryover and Eugene? Any comments would be super appreciated.
Someone commented seeing lots of drug needles in the area. Is that the entire area of Sweet Home? Thank you.

Sweet Home....needs work - 4/16/2018
This little town has potential but not enough financial support backing its law enforcement and park area's. Very depressed community and as an old logging town it suffered significantly during the market crash of 2008. It's 2018 and the logging business has picked back up but town crime has risen as have the inhabitants of homeless people. Drugs are bad here and the SWAT team is raiding places constantly trying to clean it up but the struggle is ongoing. There is always trash in abundance laying about. Beautiful Foster Reservoir catches the brunt of it. I've found all kinds of trash, even syringes. The potential for this area to be pristine and quaint and healthy is possible but the less than helpful and caring citizens are in abundance it seems. Drugs are very bad here sadly. Logging is a huge part of Sweet Home's economy but its devastating to the mature forest if you care about nature and such things as I do. It's a job for many I understand. I would consider searching

Great place to live for out door lovers - 11/10/2014
Sweet Home is a beautiful town in the mountains with a river running through town. There are two reservoirs within a few minutes drive. Great fishing, boating and camping fun. Great place to hunt, sled ride in the winter. Those who love to snow ski, you are only an hour away from great skiing. Sweet Home is just a great place to live and enjoy recreation year
