Waldport, OR is a small town on the Central Oregon Coast that offers unique activities and attractions. With its stunning views of sand dunes, rivers, and coastline, it's easy to see why Waldport is a popular destination for visitors looking for a peaceful getaway. From fishing, boating, and hiking to beachcombing and kayaking, there's plenty of outdoor activities for people to enjoy. Many travelers have commented that they were impressed with the friendly locals and relaxed atmosphere of the town. Others say they had a great time exploring the nearby beaches and trails as well as trying local cuisine. I traveled 9 countries, worked at 9 different corporations, most people that I have encountered belonging to the environment surrounding by investment banking or the Wall Street.
There is no stock exchange market in the West coast except for Sanfrancisco Bay area. You can imagine how different is Oregon coast and CA.
There are only 2000 people living in Waldport, OR. My neighbor couple are moving down there from Portland Metro area, they would like the coast for retirement life.
I visited the Depoe Bay twice last year, it was excited to watch whales with naked eyes but I don't have to go every year.
The summer is great due to the sea breeze is keeping the sunny day very cool. But, no place serving great food and too crowded when people went out for dinner.
As the matter of fact, some restaurant closed down because the Fall/Winter/Spring are usually quiet , but the traffics were seen bumper to bumper for Summer during my last visit.

Waldport is Beautiful, but - 1/21/2011
Waldport Oregon and the surrounding area are beautiful if you have your own income and don't need to work for a living. I came here to be near aging parents as well. The area is probably the most beautiful I have ever seen. The mountains meet the sea here, and the air is clean. The water here ranges from good spring water to salty and sulfuric. There are very good people here, and also some very low income people here. The services the community provides to help people are amazing. I discovered some of the wonderful community services after my income dropped by first half, then a quarter, then to zero as my job prospects faded and my savings depleted. I realize this is partially due to the economy everywhere dropping in the past 10 years or so. The Keady Center in town has a generous food bank where if you income qualify you can get free food once a month. They also give out free used clothing, furniture and appliances that work.
