Life in Birdsboro - 8/12/2008
I have lived in Birdsboro for 13 years. I absolutely love being near Lancaster County (amish country) and we go there often in good weather.

The people here are very stand-offish and difficult to warm up to.

It's about a twenty minute drive to the closet hospitals, fifteen minutes to the nearest shopping mall. Also, about a fifteen minute drive to restaurants. There are a lot of pizza shops in town, but if you want a sit down meal you will have to drive to get there.

The Daniel Boone school district is a good one. We just built a new elementary and middle school. SAT scores are high as the students are well prepared for college.

Geigertown/French Creek State Park area - 1/18/2008
Quiet,safe,isolated and near beautiful, quaint amish country.
Unfavorable: Just a few hot summer weekends when the Park public pool attracts drinking/partying/low life
Unfavorable: I get a little uneasy in the midst of this huge forest area in a drought/campers fire combo.
Unfavorable: 20 minutes to grocery and much further to hospitals.
