Being a new resident, since 02/07 to Chadds Ford has shown me several things:
1. The public schools are Blue Ribbon and some of the best in the state. One day I found a flyer in my mailbox from a Delaware resident wanting to rent my house for up to 4k a month so they could enroll their children in the school district.
2. There is only one new home builder, selling homes in the CF/UV school district. That is Toll Bros who has sold 17 new home w/avg prices of 800k since Feb. I thought the housing market was slow? Not when the school district is Blue Ribbon!
3. Overall the people are very nice especially being close to a major North Eastern City(26 miles from the Philly airport.)There are a few snooty people in the area, but as the area becomes more diverse I think that will change. New Home prices are in the 850k range and Prop. taxes are 12k. The trip to NYC is 2 1/2 hours, and to south Philly the trip is 30-45 minutes. I haven't been to the beach yet but its about 1-1 Read More
