Quality of Life - 8/4/2012
A great place to live if you like the countryside. You have spacious yards with nearby woods, and in some places nearby farms. And... don't be surprised if you see a deer, fawn etc. walking through your yard on a daily basis. Nice, quiet, and safe neighborhood with beautiful surroundings. A great place to live if you have a family, kids or a significant other. Not so good, if you are single and looking for work. You do have to drive an hour or more to get to any of the happening places in our major city which is Pittsburgh, PA or surrounding area. Shopping and cultural activities are a good drive as well. And... if you like organic food, i.e. Whole Foods, it is about a 45 minute to hour drive, depending on traffic. Employment is dead in our little town. So you will have to drive to Pittsburgh or the surrounding area for a good paying job. Unless, you luck out and find one at one of our local office parks. As previously stated, country living, very small town. The city is actually an outgrowth of neighboring New Kensington, so town set-up is very suburban. The residents are basically nice, but very provincial in the best case and downright close-minded in the worst case.
