YOUR TOWN IS MY LAST NAME - 5/12/2008
My ancestors came from County Dunnagal, Ireland in the late 1700's. Nothing much there but hill and rock; and oppression. Many stayed in Lancaster. Others moved toward Michigan; others South breaking off in West Va. and down to Wilkes Co., N.C. where my Dad, Charles M Mahaffey was born in 1900. So surprised and pleased to hear of a town with my family name. Tempted to make the 480 mile trip this summer. Would love to share time with people I somehow
