A black man in milton - 10/17/2017
If you are not from the area, the locals will stare until they get to know you. The area tends to be 10-20 years behind when it comes to entertainment, race relations, and employment. At one point Milton was 98% white, however this has changed due to a large number of Hispanics and Blacks moving into the area. Some of the locals show disapproval by hanging confederate flags. As far as crime, Milton is not as bad as Sunbury or Williamsport but there are a few townies and drunks that roam the down town area. Be prepared to travel 20 plus miles to the nearest movie theatre and descent restaurant. All in all ok for a family no place for a single

Need a car - 7/7/2010
Milton is a great small town but there is no public transportation unless you are a senior citizen or handicapped. There are a few stores in town but anything else requires a car. If you have a car there are plenty of major stores with two malls inside of 20 miles.
