Air Quality could stand improvement - 10/26/2009
As Penn Township is so near to Carlisle, PA, which is a major shipping hub, we have definite air quality problems due to semi-truck traffic (I-76 and I-81 cross in Carlisle). More and more distribution warehouses are being built, which I imagine will contribute to the problem. However, about 2 years ago, an organization was started, Clean Air Board of Central Pennsyvlania, which is working on getting anti-idling laws in place. They've also been successful in getting an air testing module put up to monitor the air quality in Carlisle. So, they are making progress slowly and hopefully will get our air quality to improve.
