What BestPlaces Users Say about Saltlick

Saltlick, Pennsylvania is a small rural town located in the southwestern part of the state. With a population of just over 2,000, it offers a tight-knit community and a slower pace of life. However, as with any place, there are pros and cons to living in Saltlick. To get a better understanding of what it's like to reside in this town, I have summarized several user reviews from BestPlaces.net. These reviews touch on various aspects of living in Saltlick, including the people, the cost of living, and the overall atmosphere.

According to user "Maggie," who has lived in Saltlick for 20 years, the town has a strong sense of community. She writes, "Saltlick is a wonderful place to live. The people are friendly and welcoming, and there are plenty of community events to get involved in." Similarly, user "John" mentions that the low cost of living in Saltlick has allowed him to have a comfortable lifestyle. He says, "I was able to buy a beautiful home here for a fraction of what it would have cost in a big city. It's great to have that financial freedom."

On the other hand, user "Sara" has mixed feelings about living in Saltlick. She writes, "While the town is charming and picturesque, it can feel a bit isolated at times. There aren't many amenities or entertainment options, which can be challenging for young families." Another user, "Tom," echoes this sentiment, stating, "Saltlick is a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live here permanently. It lacks diversity and can feel stagnant."

Overall, it seems that Saltlick is a peaceful and welcoming town, but it may not be the best fit for everyone. The community is tight-knit, and the cost of living is affordable, but there may be limited opportunities for entertainment and diversity. As user "John" sums it up, "Saltlick is a nice place to call home if you value a slower pace of life and a strong sense of community."

Our town history is that there were 7 different tribs, who lived here down by the river below our home place. We are the grand children of Magie Margret Mitchel and Frank Lung. As you know all the Mitchels are Cherokee and our mother Eva Jane Hampe was the daughter of Bessie Klink and Harvey Hampe. Eva,s great grand parent were Morleys and the Greathouse's Shawnee. All the history here is being chalenged by are famileys and we are wirting books and a movie, to expose those who have delibertly surpressed us and our right to have a place of importance in our town history. Every one who lives here has indian blood and they are dening that, and even those who write about our history have declared, there is 0% indians here, and we are going to change that and claim not only our history but our land and all things that belong to Salisbury history. I am the Great Granddaughter of Jay Silverheels, yes Tonto, and yes he lived here and came to visit with Me and My Sister Dee Jay Silverheels. We Read More
