Growth, education & taxes! - 4/14/2010
Since West Greenwich, RI is a relatively small community with approximately 6,400 residents, we share our school system with our neighboring town, Exeter. As the economy has severely contracted, there are insufficient revenues to conduct the business of the towns in normal fashion. Our school district continues to loose student population while the budget continues to increase every year. This directon is not sustainable with the tax increase limitations imposed by the RI legislature contained in the bill #S-3050.
We will survive this downturn as it is simply one in a series of events in the 269 year proud history of West Greenwich, RI.
