Ya'all Found A Church Yet? - 12/2/2011
Parts of Easley are very very attractive. The Saluda River is quite pretty, and is currently being dredged. Some of the prices for McMansions in the backwater near the river are just plain ridiculously high. As a Furman University professor told me, "There's not a house in Pickens County worth $300K." There's a weird sense of pride in their ignorance and they have little desire to learn what their maw ain't taught them. Trailers on the outskirts and a definite division of poor on one side of the tracks versus the rich on the other. Schools are okay but rather militaristic in their thinking. Yes ma'am, no ma'am kind of stuff. Very rigid Read More
