I have lived here all of my life ....namely Greenvill,Easley,Pickens, Travelers Rest area. The North West corner of the state.
I love it here but have to say the older I get the more the hot humid summers REALLY get to me. I absolutely hate it. It is the middle of June 12 midnight and outside is 74 degrees with 95% humidity.Granted it did rain earlier today.
inside it is 80 degrees with 60% humidity without the AC on.
The summers are so hot and humid it really taxes the AC's and is a major power drain. Surrounding areas were with out electricity for a couple of days last week because everyone was using too much electricity trying to cool off.
The trade off for the hot humid summers is that the winters are mild. January is the only month I hate be a use of the cold. We typically don't get snow unless it's a light dustin (but even then we take a "holiday" ....don't knock it,we deserve it) In January however, we usually get at least one ice storm resulting in

Ok place to live, terrible traffic - 5/6/2015
I like living in Greenville. The atmosphere downtown is trendy.
The problem is that too many people are flooding in to live here, and the city is not keeping up.
The roads are primitive, and at rush hour they clog horribly.
Another problem is that the traffic enforcement, especially in Mauldin, seems out to bully
drivers, but it's really the city's fault for not taking care of what it's citizens need by
maintaining proper and safe roads. They have school busses stoping on unsafe roads (Mauldin), and if there is
an accident during rush hour the world stands still. For a long time.
What is great here is the local hiking adventures at Paris Mountain and the nearby NC mountains.
Great for families. You just have to be a patient person to put up with some sketchy, Mayberry ticket writing, politics and
bad

I moved to Greenville, South Carolina from Kenosha, Wisconsin and I'm wild about the place. I appreciate the mild winter weather, the swanky downtown and the kindly people. As a baseball fanatic I have found the minor baseball team's stadium one of the best in the country. I avoid religious and political topics like the plague. As a Catholic I haven't had anybody get down on me about it. People here are very polite and considerate. I think Greenville is a wonderful

Unfriendly Single Place - 8/13/2013
Recently relocated to Greenville from another state two years ago. Overall, clean and growing town. I would not recommend it to single professionals in 20s or early 30s. Great place to raise a family but not a great place to be single. Although Greenville is growing, single activities are limited, heavy populated area of married people. Downtown area is very pretty but gets old and not consistent. Demographic wise Greenville offers little to no diversity. Huge separation between different racial classes. Recommendation for singles start or join meet up groups or just head to Atlanta and/or Charolette.
