A storybook hamlet for those wanting the quiet lif - 1/11/2020
We just bought the house right in the very center of town. Lowndesville is a very sleepy little hamlet of a town on the South Carolina/ Georgia State line. With fewer than 130 people living there and by some accounts less than a hundred, you can expect a friendly and mostly quiet environment. Our new home is well over 130 years old and is a big part of the town's history. We have been welcomed by the residents with a warmth that is as refreshing, as it is unaccustomed to us from years in the wintery northern states. If it's an escape from the noise and bustle of the busier urban sprawls you're looking for, with a gentle mayberryesk vibe, Lowndesville is the place for you. The town has some funky quirks though that can make buying a home here strange and a little difficult. Be prepared to have more than one mailing address. Lowndesville is also a short drive from the local bigger town's so get what you need when you do your shopping or you're in for another country drive more than you
