Lived in Cleveland for almost 24 years - 2/4/2024
I just moved from Cleveland the last week of December 2023 and lived in Bradley County about 4 miles out of city limits for 21+ years and 2 years in the city limits. We moved to Cleveland in 2000 and I only moved recently due to the death of my spouse. We were never a victim of any crime, nor were any of our neighbors and we didn’t live in a gated neighborhood. I assume most of these crimes are happening down off of Wildwood Drive in the South section of town, and there are some projects near Lee University. (our kids all went to Lee University and they had no issues while on campus). We enjoyed our years in Cleveland. It is close to Dalton and is a short cut to Atlanta which is about 2 hours drive. Twenty minutes to Chattanooga shopping and about 30 minutes to Walnut Street Bridge/Coolidge Park/Arts District in Chattanooga. Two hours from GSMNP and Pigeon Forge and 3 hours to Nashville, six hours to Panama City Beach. There are plenty of jobs in Cleveland and the town has Read More

Worst Place to Live - 9/25/2018
Lived in Cleveland for the last 15 years. Dont believe any glowing reviews you read. The job situation here is terrible. on any given major street you can find an abundance of Temporary Agencies and payday loan stores. Plenty of pay by the week motels, as though the town doesn't want you to stay. Crime is atrocious, and goes mostly unreported in the media. Shootings are common, and robberies, break in's,and theft are an everyday occurance, in large numbers. Methamphetimine addiction, along with other drugs, and all the crime that comes with it, is a huge issue in Cleveland, thanks in part to hispanic gangs who have easy access to this area from Dalton, GA. If you like Mcdonald's we have 5. Guess that's a plus. Don't move here. Trust Read More

I’ve lived here for 8 years. I came from Memphis to get away from crime. It turns out Cleveland isn’t any better. In my neighborhood something is always going down. Shooting(that we never hear about on the news or anything), robberies, drug busts, etc. The town officials hides stuff that happens so Cleveland can maintain a small town Read More

Economy - 11/21/2010
Obviously you have not factored the new industry in Cleveland. Its impact is just beginning to be felt.----3,000 new jobs at the new Volkswagen Pland; 9,000 new jobs being created by Volkswagen Parts Suppliers; 150 new jobs being created by new Whirlpool Plant; 3200 new jobs to be created by new German Chemical Company coming in 2011.

Real estste still lags behind the impending recovery. NOW IS THE TIME TO BUY!!! Get a dream home at one of Bradley County's beautiful lakes, dirt cheap. No pun intended.

Cleveland/Chattanooga area - 11/20/2010
I have lived all over the southeast and for all-around living, in all catagories, the Cleveland/Chattanooga area is the greatest place I have
ever lived. The economy is probably the hottest here than anywhere in the
Southeast, thanks to the new Volkswagen Plant, Nine Volkswagen parts suppliers, the new Westinghouse plant, a new German chemical plant that will employ 3,000 when fully open and two new plants that are currently "top Secret." The housing market (buying and renting) has not yet caught up to
all the new jobs, but it will. Now is the time to buy.----Over 300 churches in this county. Fantastic Senior Services. (I am one.)Three Universities. Very low crime rate. ---Mel Read More

Unplaned Growth - 4/12/2007
Cleveland has become a hot spot to live with low crime and decent city life. The surrounding cities are so corrupt and filled with crime people are quickly leaving those cities and moving into Cleveland. City developement has never moved so fast and it is quickly becoming obvious that no furture planning is being done. Unchecked growth with only turn into a disater like the failure in N.O. or Read More
