About Dover - 12/29/2006
My wife and I retired here a year ago last October because we fell in love with the area. It is clean, beautiful hills and many, many recreational areas. Dover is a major Civil War historical area with National Battle Grounds and Cemeteries. It is located at the south end of the Land Between The Lakes National Park. I tell people who ask about the standard of living here that Dover has one traffic light, the inmates can be seen sitting on the front steps of the jail when its warm, and the people are friendly and helpful. Cost of living is considerably less than where we used to live. Healthcare is good but shopping is not like you would find in a metropolitan area. You drive some to get to large shopping areas. Its mild in the winter and hot in the summer. Spring and fall last a long time are are very pleasant. It a great place to Read More
