Area Depressed, Has a nice 1000 acre lake, boring - 4/4/2022
Between Nashville and Memphis and 2 hr to Vanderbilt Hospital. Area is depressed and is a 30 min drive to Jackson and 45 min to Paris. Housing prices are all over the place, $75,000 to $600,000. Hard to find good workers here, lower educated people, most have not completed high school. I feel safe but there are drug issue and you need to lock things up, Only a couple of restaurants in town and I find the health standards can be lacking so I cook most of my food and dine in Jackson or Paris. A few good places in Mckenzie. Dated golf course near but nothing to brag about. If you love to golf, this is not the area for you. No near 55 plus areas and you are pressed to find things to do around here. California & Florida people are buy things up. Weather is hot in summer and mild winters with 5 - 8 in a snow a year, good stormy weather at times. Humidity is not too bad. Ticks are the common if you are near the woods. Land is reasonable outside of the city.
