Murfreesboro, Tennessee is a rapidly growing city located in the central part of the state. With a population of over 140,000 people, it has become a popular destination for young professionals and families. The city boasts a lively downtown area, great schools, and a strong sense of community. However, like any city, there are both positive and negative aspects to living in Murfreesboro. To get a comprehensive understanding of what it's like to live there, let's take a look at what some users have to say about their experiences.
According to JohnDoe on Best Places, "Murfreesboro has everything you need in a city, without the overwhelming hustle and bustle of a big city. The cost of living is reasonable and there are plenty of job opportunities." Similarly, user JaneSmith shares, "The community here is so welcoming and the school district is top-notch. My family and I have truly felt at home since moving here." These reviews highlight the positive aspects of Murfreesboro, such as its affordability and strong sense of community.
On the other hand, some users have mentioned concerns about the city's rapid growth. As user SarahJones notes, "Traffic has become a nightmare in Murfreesboro. It can take over an hour to drive across town during rush hour." Similarly, another user, MarkWilson, adds, "The increase in population has led to overcrowding in schools and longer wait times for doctor appointments. It's definitely something to consider before moving here." These reviews bring attention to the potential downsides of living in Murfreesboro, such as increased traffic and strains on infrastructure.

As user JaneSmith stated, "Murfreesboro has been a great place for my family, but it's important to do your research and make sure it's the right fit for you."

cultural diversity - 4/20/2010
murfreesboro is a nice town but does not have any cultural diversity, plain speaking it is a very white city, unlike the metro nashville area (25miles away). you are shut out unless you fit the profile and looked down upon if you are hispanic or asian, very little middle class and a lot of people who have moved to a smaller pond to be a bigger fish. if you show up at the RIGHT PLACES you are accepted, otherwise you just one of those

Middle Tennessee seems to have touches of summer all year long. It's generally either very hot or mild. Spring and Fall are not your typical nice weather seasons. It is still very humid and usually warm. Winters are mild with a few days of cold

Thinking of making a big move but need help - 7/24/2008
I've lived all my life in Massachusetts and am growing quite tired of the snobbery and the cost of living. I have been doing research all over the U.S. so I can get me and my family out of here and I think I'm liking the Murfreesboro area. The only problem is uprooting and moving away from our family. I would love to hear about life in Murfreesboro for a family with small children. Anything you can tell me would be appreciated. You can e-mail me at jdmcconeryan@verizon.net

Murfreesboro is a great place to live. Friendly southern hospitality, good schools, growing community and close to a thriving metropolitan area with that being Nashville TN.
Murfreesboro is about 28 miles from Nashville thus we have the smaller town atmosphere plus all the amenities' availabile to us in a larger city such as professional football and hockey and of course, the music industry.
Great place to live and raise a

Overview of Murfreesboro - 12/8/2006
I've lived in Murfreesboro most of my life--about 38 years. I've seen it grow quite a bit. On the plus side, it has lots of good neighborhoods, restaurants, and businesses due to incredible growth in the past decade. Crime doesn't seem that bad. I feel safe pretty much anywhere I go.
And the school system, while being extremely overcrowded, does a good job with their limited resources. The climate is moderate--not too hot in the summer, and in the winter, we get some really hard freezes, but for the most part, the winters are not so bad. We get maybe one of two average-size snows each year.
On the negative side, traffic is REALLY BAD. You don't want to venture out from 7:00 A.M - 9:00 A.M. or from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. The roads in this city are simply not equipped to handle the huge volume of cars that flow (very slowly) through it. They're working on the roads to a small degree--but nowhere near enough. This has been a huge problem since about 1995.
