Addison is an extremely fun and safe place to be. - 12/15/2020
I’ve lived in this city for over ten years, and I love it. People come here for fun at the many venues in the business district, and so the stats don’t reflect how safe Addison is in it’s residential areas. I feel much safer here than areas where there is a lot less police coverage. If anything, the police are doing their job better so the higher stats reflect that these issues are being dealt with and not swept under the Read More

A little too hot for my liking. I would like to live in a city with a better climate (more moderate temps) with a diverse, multi-racial group of people. Read More

Looking for town like Addison, Texas in Orlando, F - 5/18/2009
I have lived in Addison, Texas since 1992 & am currently considering a move to the Orlando area for work but Addison, Texas has so much to offer. First, Addison has lots of entertainment, free concerts in the park, lots of local festivals, and an acclaimed local theater. Second, Addison has lots of restaurants and bars but there is a lot of diversity in the types of establishments. Addison enjoys fine fancy restaurants and funky little bars. My particular neighborhood has a great trail system and two dogparks within easy walking distance. Addison also boasts a first-class athletic club, open to residents only for a $10 one-time fee. Finally, Addison has a diverse and educated population, with lots of young single professionals and married couples with no children. It is definitely more of an adult community, centrally located in the Dallas-Fort Worth Read More

Addison is a lovely quiet peaceful relaxing place to live. But also is a mecca for entertainment and culture, everyone weekend there something spectacular to do, a play at the Addison Conference Center and Theatre, a festival at Addison Circle Park, or dining at some of the most exquisite restarants in Dallas County. 20 minutes from downtown dallas but situated perfectly to enjoy small town life near the inner city, crime is minimal, neighbors are small town friendly. Excellent place to live, a little pricey but for the safety and comfort, very well worth Read More

Addison, Texas - 6/5/2007
I have lived in Addison, TX for over 7 years. Here is my - and I will try to be as objective as possible - review. Addison is a VERY efficient, modern suburb of Dallas. It is run in an extremely efficient manner. It is a clean city that only has 14,000 residents, and various corporations are headquartered here. The result is massive windfalls of taxes for the town of Addison. The result of that is the various festivals that Addison puts on (Oktoberfest, Taste of Addison, etc.). Addison is the first town in Texas to offer residents wireless Internet over 100% of the town. Addison has Addison Circle, a "mixed residency" area that follows so-called "New Urbanism", which is an architectural style that emphasizes a European-like mix of living and shopping. It is quite nice, actually. Overall, Addison has the reputation of being very "yuppie" and I cannot say that that is an incorrect stereotype, because the average person one encounters there is actually pretty "corporate", and/or yuppie. Read More
