Arlington is a city located in Texas, known for its sports teams and attractions such as Six Flags Over Texas and AT&T Stadium. It is also home to the University of Texas at Arlington and has a growing job market in industries such as healthcare, education, and manufacturing.

According to many user reviews on BestPlaces.net, living in Arlington has its ups and downs. While some praise the city for its convenient location and affordable cost of living, others mention issues such as traffic and crime. Several reviewers also mention the strong sense of community and diversity in Arlington.

One user, Samantha, had this to say about living in Arlington: "I've lived in Arlington for 5 years now and I absolutely love it. There is always something to do, from sporting events to concerts to festivals. The cost of living is also very reasonable which is a huge plus." Another reviewer, John, adds, "I've called Arlington home for over 20 years and I have no plans of leaving. It's a great place to raise a family with good schools and plenty of job opportunities."

However, some reviewers did mention concerns about traffic and crime in Arlington. As David puts it, "Traffic can be a nightmare during rush hour and we do have a higher crime rate compared to other cities in Texas. But overall, I still enjoy living here and the benefits outweigh the negatives for me." Similarly, Sarah writes, "The crime rate can be alarming but I've never personally felt unsafe. Just need to be aware of your surroundings like in any other city."

Overall, it seems that living in Arlington has its pros and cons but many residents are happy with their decision to live there. As Emily states, "Arlington is a diverse and welcoming city with a great sense of community. I've lived here my whole life and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else."

Home Sweet Home - 8/5/2006
I have lived in Arlington 10 years and taught school in Arlington for five years. Arlington is a suburb of Fort Worth, but is rapidly becoming a big city of its own. Actually, I don't really know if you could call it a suburb any more. Arlington is running into the same problems that other big cities have, but there is a great sense of pride in the community. I worry sometimes that the growth will change Arlington too much. But for now, it is "Home Sweet Home" and I am proud to say that I live in Arlington, Read More

Brutal Summers, Comfortable Winters - 7/20/2006
I've lived in the Fort Worth/Dallas area in Texas since 1988 and have always hated the summers here. The average high during the hottest period here (the last two weeks of July through the first two weeks of August) is 96 degrees F. However, it is very common to have many days over 100 with some days reaching 105 or hotter (It's been 102 to 105 every day this week). In addition to the miserable heat, we are close enough to the Gulf of Mexico to have many days with a fair amount of humidity. There isn't much escape at night, either. On many evenings, the temperature can still be in the mid-90's at 10:00 PM. I try to stay in the house in the summer. We also have plenty of air pollution watch days throughout the summer. Heat, humidity, and air pollution: that sums up what summers are like.

Winters, on the other hand, are quite comfortable: usually in the 60's. It can get down into the teens and even single digits once-in-awhile, but that never lasts more than a day or two, Read More
