I have lived in this area 22 years. October is a fine month to be here. November through December is not too bad either. Winter consists of 1 or 2 really cold days, then the temperature comes up into the 50s, sometimes higher.

(I have had to run my air conditioner at least a week in January, every year I have lived here.)

It starts warming up in March.

Summers, on the other hand, are a different story. If you haven't put your garden in by late January, you are too late. Your garden will burn up before any veggies ripen.

By June, it is over for outdoor activities, and open windows. (Actually the open windows are gone by end of March, and refrigerated air conditioning is full on.)

You can still grow okra, and melons, but that's about it. This is the first place I have ever lived where I couldn't get one ripe tomato.
