I grew up here and left over 30 years ago. Back then there was a promise (a hope, spark) that Dallas would be here soon... that stopped in Sherman. The town does not know how to grow. There was a surge downtown in the mid-90s to create an arts district. That died when Tortorichi made his million in real estate and moved to Costa Rica. Rural small-town mentality - 11/13/2007
Denison is not far removed from the old west cowboy culture. Jeans, boots and baseball hats are the dress for everything.
