Leave Austin for the hill country! - 5/17/2015
I moved here (Austin) in 1972...you can imagine how wonderful it was then? I moved here for the music scene because I was married to a bass player, and we wanted to be where it was happening. Thru the 80's I had 4 kids, and it was so easy to get around town then. Now it sucks because of traffic, and too many people at events, and they've torn down old funky Austin places because they wanted to build condos, or apartment...stores. It looks like how Dallas looked after it became no longer Dallas...a place that was easy to maneuver in until all the renovation to downtown took place. Same with Houston. I have move to the hill country in December of 2012...and I love the ease of living here! Plus it is gorgeous out here, and stress-free! Don't move there ya'll(Austin)...when I was 21 and was living off North Lamar at 7th street in Austin, the rent was $125 for a huge house at 617 Blanco Road! Now that house rents for $2300 a month!
