Getting crowded but still a decent place to live - 9/30/2021
We've lived in Hunt County, just outside of the Royse City limits but still having an RC address, for 21 years now. What used to be a rural area with fairly convenient access to civilization has since become fairly crowded with housing developments. Some people are still building their own homes on individual parcels, but the bulk of the building has been in development projects. The county has mostly kept pace with the growing population by improving the roads, but we've watched the traffic density grow by the month. Cost of Water - 10/10/2012
The cost for the first 3000 gallons of water in the city limits of Royse City is $19.80; the cost outside of the city limits is $29.70. I live outside of the city limits. I used to live in Garland, TX. The cost for the first 3000 gallons there is $3.02. That is a 90% difference!!!!!!! I have no idea why Royse City charges for water like it is gold. Our water bills are absolutely outrageous every month. And there's nothing any of us can do about it except move. Even moving into the city limits it is a 85% difference!
We had a leak in our front yard and the meter read that we used 19,000 gallons and our bill was $195.93. The plumber told me that in Rockwall and Rowlett if you have a leak you can bring the invoice from the plumber up to the water company and they will adjust your bill. Tried that in Royse City. Nope! We had to pay for 19,000 gallons of water for two people.
Just trying to pay our water bill every month is about killing
