One hit flop. - 5/5/2009
This town is full of horrible people who play games and try to stare at you as if they are someone out of this world. Do not move here if you are thinking about it. There are a lot more cities in this country that are livable. I really don't like this area. Sure it's pretty cheap to leave here because the pay is 6.55! Pit stop central. This town is good for people who have their own business and have retired or something. THIS PLACE SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

outdoor activities - 4/25/2009
Texarkana is two cities wrapped up in one. I love taking a mountain bike ride on the boyscout trail on Arkansas side, then going over to Texas side and playing a little disc golf at Spring Lake Park. There aren't a whole lot of other things to do though, but I give Texarkana USA props for their down home attitude and good ol' boy

Nice place, but..... - 4/8/2009
Texarkana has its POSITIVES: nice people, great place to raise kids, low traffic, reasonable cost of living, little crime, proximity to large cities (Little Rock, Dallas, Shreveport) lots of nice neighborhoods, good arts and culture for its size.
The NEGATIVES: horrible pay...few really good jobs, the Arkansas side is a ghetto dump.
The only good jobs/people making money are:
lawyers, doctors/nurses, "old money" people, long-established family businesses.
There are damm few "corporate" type jobs. The only openings are if someone dies or retires. If you are a white collar (and educated) professional it is very hard to find anything... and if you lose your job...well you'd better call your Real Estate agent right away and get ready to uproot your family!!! (and start checking into a house in Dallas or Houston).
