I have traveled numerous places in US and have not seen a place like Hanksville. The places (businesses & homes) are quaint and have a certain charm. What I was disgusted by was seeing 2 malnourished dogs begging for food outside Burger Shak. Malnourished to the point were the ribs and spinal bones were visible. When asked where the nearest shelter was at citizens look at you with a blank stare. Later I was told that the dogs were owned. If this is how they treat their dogs is this a place you want to visit, patronize, let alone move to. It's disgusting how neglected the animals are here. The people of Hanksville don't look neglected with all the weight they are carrying so why treat dogs like that? Hanksville should have an ordinance banning people here from purchasing / owning domestic household pets.
