Nice place to visit, suggest renting a year first - 10/10/2021
Colchester is a very nice and picturesque town. Taxes however are high and housing costs if you want to own your own place may be prohibitive in light of the cost of living and the insane valuations. I suggest you rent for at least a year before you commit to moving there permanently; get a good experience of the weather, politics and costs before pack up and go there for good. The same really applies to anyplace in VT but I lived in Colchester for a dozen years. I was not native to the area and frankly by the time I moved out I could not wait to go, but your mileage may
