Blackstone is undergoing a transformation - 4/26/2009
If you have not ventured to the quaint little town just off or route 460 East, you may want to in the near future. Blackstone is a designated Main Street Community and is undergoing major improvements to its historic building stock and is seeing a tremendous surge in private investment in its downtown core. Revitalization is in full swing and is slated to complete phase 1 by the end of October 2009. The town is completing a new Bon Secours Medical Center and several other grant projects and new businesses are opening up and existing ones are expanding. I guess we missed the memo about the economic downturn. Blackstone is a charming little town with historic Schwartz tavern and the Thomas Carriage museum as its major tourist attractions.
