With plenty of parks, restaurants, and shopping centers, Burke provides a variety of activities for visitors and locals alike. Burke is known for its outdoor activities such as hiking trails in both Burke Lake Park and Jefferson District Park, fishing in Lake Braddock, biking on the Fairfax Cross County Trail, kayaking on Accotink Creek, and golfing at one of the many golf courses in the area. The charming downtown area with local eateries and shops makes it a great place to spend an afternoon wandering around or grabbing a bite to eat. On top of all that, Burke has some of the best schools in the state!

Beware of the public school - 4/10/2007
Fairfax County claims to have an outstanding school system. This is only partially true. If you have a handicapped child, watch out. My child was hositalize for a month after the school system ignored one of the world's leading experts. The school system then falsified my child's records and public officals refused to addressed what happened.
When a child died at an elementary last year, the police were not allowed to investigate wheather failed to fullfil its obligations.
