Forest is a Great Place to live - 5/17/2007
I moved to Forest a little over a year ago. I have to say that the peace and quiet agrees with me. I love the beautiful scenic view, the lack of crowds, and the friendly atmosphere. I am not supposing that this lifestyle is for everyone, but for a widowed baby boomer, who is employed at Lynchburg's second largest employer, it indeed works for me.
The lovely condo that I bought was significantly cheaper than the comparable one I sold in Virginia Beach. The real-estate taxes are cheaper here; restaurants charge less; all making life here more affordable.
As I view family life here, I would assess that the Forest-Lynchburg area would be a great place to raise a family.
Well, hopefully not too many will be enticed to move here. I don’t want it to get crowded. Me and the cows like our open spaces. Read More
