I love how you can tell you're close to the water. - 10/7/2014
I used to live on an island in the Aleutian Chain and I got used to the fact that the ocean was immediately present, always. I didn't realize how much I loved being close to the water until I moved away (to Rochester, WA) and visited Portland, which is right on the river. There is a different feel to the air close to large bodies of water and it is a feel I have come to love about Aberdeen. I don't ever want to live somewhere that isn't close to the ocean again! Read More

OK. I just have to say, yes, it rains in the Winter quite a bit, and there are some wild wind/rain storms, but the Summers are MAGNIFICENT, gorgeous, SUNNY, COOL and DRY. I lived in Southern California most of my life and I wouldn't trade living there with all the smog and cars and people for anything. Aberdeen is on the harbor, there many parks and lakes and if you want to visit a rainforest or the ocean they are just a short trip out of town. The town is renovating it's downtown area while keeping it's charm. Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes visited here a few months ago and the town went wild.
