I lived there for 34 years -
7/17/2006I was born in Newport Beach and lived in Costa Mesa for 34 years. I watched as my little town was infested with illegals. The educataion dropped, there was more traffic, drugs and the housing and property taxes through the roof. I got tired of smog, no trees and sick of a 20 mile ride taking 2 hours by car in any direction. Yes, it's close to the polluted beaches, Disneyland and nightlife and entertainment,but that's not living. I sold and moved out-of-state and up north. Now I have many trees, lakes, parks and clean air. And I'm still near the beach, on a harbor in fact and every once in awhile I have deer walking through my backyard. In Costa Mesa. The only wildlife I ever saw was oopossum and sometimes the neighbors. If you want a good quality of life stay out of California.

Aberdeen is beautiful! -
7/17/2006I lived in Southern California most of my life and I wouldn't trade living there with all the smog and cars and people for anything. Aberdeen is on the harbor, there many parks and lakes and if you want to visit a rainforest or the ocean they are just a short trip out of town. The town is renovating it's downtown area while keeping it's charm. Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes visited here a few months ago and the town went wild. When asked what she thought of little 'ol Aberdeen, Katie replied "It's beautiful". When you have deer walking through your neighborhood it doesn't get better than that!
