If you like wildlife, well worth the trip! - 11/14/2018
Had heard a lot abot this town and recently spent a 4-night vacation (stayed at the local KOA) here - what a place! Many wonderful shops and restaurants, beatiful buildings! I'm 100% German, and have visited relatives there a few times, but not since '83 - this place makes me homesick for there. Other acctivities we did while there - visited the reindeer farm, took a day trip to Lake Chelan and took the Lady of the Lake boat trip to Stehekin and back, and did a wonderful hike on Icicle Gorge Trail. Considering Leavenworth - 9/5/2013
Just returned from a multi-city "prospective real estate" investment tour of cities in OR and WA. Leavenworth was one of the cities I visited. Loved it! Small town feel - population about 2,000 with Wenatchee about 30 min drive. You can easily get to know the locals and everyone I met was very friendly. Very low crime. Downtown area was quite picturesque. A little Bavarian village. The Bavarian theme is throughout the downtown and it draws many tourists. Most locals appreciate how this 'little Switzerland' theme has revived the town's economy. The surrounding mountains are gorgeous! Icicle canyon is also very picturesque. Great outdoor town with the Wenatchee River and Icicle River running through it. Read More
