Country atmosphere minutes from town - 6/1/2006
We live in the Cottonwood Springs neighborhood in Badger Canyon. Although a bit windy at times, the area is beautiful and has a laid back, friendly, country atmosphere. We are within 10-15 minutes from about everywhere in Tri-Cities. We moved here for the mild climate, low cost of living, and quality of life this area has to offer. There aren't all the things a large city has to offer, but isn't that the point of living in a smaller community? We love it

Take a drive to Kennewick, you will be surprised! - 7/7/2005
I moved to Kennewick, WA from Portland, OR about 9 months ago as my wife and I both found jobs here. We were a bit skeptical at first, but after living here a while we have found many wonderful attributes to it. The cost of housing is amazing here. You can buy a home with a river view for less than the cost of an 80 year old bungalow in Hawthorne district. Many new homes are available for less than $150,000! There is all sorts of outdoor activities to partake in. The Columbia River is wide enough to double as a lake. In fact it is the fastest race track on the hydroplane circuit. The weather is very different from what one might expect if they only know the Northwest as Portland or Seattle. The weather here is very arid and dry with most days being sunny. Winter can get a little cold with the occasional snow, but the sun is out most of the time here. Do not let the numbers fool you as to the population. It confused us at first as it seemed like there must be 10 times the
