Not perfect, but Kettle Falls is close. - 7/16/2019
I've lived in Kettle Falls since 2013. We must've arrived right after Rob moved away.
The Mayor is a friendly, purpose driven, and dedicated man. The city streets are well maintained during the winter months. Waste water treatment facility is brand new and state of the art. The main thoroughfare is Hwy 395 (3rd St in town) which puts you no more than 10 minutes away from the County Hospital, Providence Mt. Carmel. 10 minutes in the other direction will have you on Lake Roosevelt- fishing for Walleye, water skiing or just enjoying the Northern Colombia River. If you stay on the road for another 10 minutes, you may see moose, bear, elk, possibly wolf and literally hundreds of deer and wild turkey. Over 250 species of birds including Bald Eagle, Red-tailed Hawk and Great Blue Heron dot the skies.
Schools system includes an Early Learning Center, along with Elementary, Middle and High Schools.

Kettle Falls Embodies What is Wrong with Small Tow - 3/6/2012
There is real estate that has been for sale forever because the owners think they're sitting on a gold mine. They are most definitely not. There is a speed trap in town that gets the town's money from a cop manning it to catch minor violations and write big tickets. There is a big-fish in small pond ruling core group that steamrolls over everybody and everything, making most people live in fear of ever speaking up to better the community. The schools lack music and arts and quality in general although you wouldn't believe the salaries the teachers earn--over $60,000 and up. There is obnoxious over priced organic food (in fact mush of everything in town is overpriced which make no sense as so many live in poverty income) but other restaurants that aren't open for supper! The ones that are serve mediocre diner food. Don't expect to recreate on the lake. There are no Read More
