Lacking in a lot of things - 1/8/2017
The population stays around the same. Companies come and go, and the overall jobs (I mean professional jobs, not BK or McD's) seem to come and go too. Mitsubishi is only staying a few years at best, and Genie had a lay-off. Home prices skyrocketed, perhaps because wet-siders are retiring here to get some sun. The lake is nasty and slimy. I haven't been here long, but it seems change is happening. The Mormons don't have as huge a hold on Moses Lake as some point out. If anything the town is now being overrun by Hispanics and gang activity is increasing from what I am gathering. There is no food choices here. I hear the town keeps out businesses to preserve their own interests (i.e. the guy who owns all the decent places in town.....Michaels on the Lake, the Bistro, and Rockbottom) and shopping sucks. You have to drive 1.5 hours in any direction to get things. Amazon delivers though. The Walmart is all there really is. The other stores have limited selection and high prices. This is not Read More

Moses Lake - 11/6/2012
I enjoy the dry desert climate and central location to outdoor activities. Even though it is desert we enjoy four seasons. The drawback is the influx of gain related activities. Read More

Great town, friendly people and lots to do. - 9/10/2011
I have lived in Moses Lake with my wife and kids since 2004. We did not like the town at first but as we discoverd the area more we fell in love with this town.
First you are in a nice climate with lots of bodies of water to play in. Moses Lake has 30 parks and only 20,000 people. The parks are a great place to gather and have fun. The water park is top notch and is typicaly not so crowded that you have any types of long waits.
The town is lacking in shopping and while the restaurants that are in town are good there is not a lot of diversity.
That being said, you are 75 minutes from Spokane, 80 minutes from Tri-Cities 2.15hours from downtown Seattle, 70 minutes to Wenatchee and a few miles past Wenatchee is Leavenworth.
There is a lot to do and explore in this area but if you are looking for more of a night life atmosphere this is not the place to be.

Climate conditions of Laguna area of Moses Lake - 6/27/2008
In general we have milder winters (comparing to other cities in area), spring can be a bit windy, summers tend to be hot (but evenings usually bring a mild breeze or wind) and falls are wonderful, weatherwise.

We live in the Laguna Area of Moses Lake (South of I-90) on the West side of Moses Lake. Our home is located on the water. In general the Laguna area has less wind than other areas of Moses Read More

The Mormon church rules the town - 1/28/2008
I have grown up in Moses Lake and have witnessed how wrong it is that the Mormon Church has their say in EVERYTHING that goes on in the town. School dances, play productions, the dance team, and sports, have all been changed or have even been pushed out by constant pressure of the church! If you are not of the Mormon religion and want to live in Moses Lake, I would seriously think about if you want to be surrounded by loud and very opinionated people who think they know what the best and moral thing is for every citizen of the town. It is only getting worse, and it won’t be long before they are involved in every council and group in Read More

Economy & Population - 1/9/2008
We have jobs & absolutely need qualified applicants. The emploers are having a difficult time finding qualified employees to fill the positions. How can your company help?
I am a licensed Realtor since 1992. I have sold many houses in this area. The economy is thriving & housing is affordable. It's been great to see the amount of people able to buy houses in this area.
Some of the great opportunities in our small growing area is the level of educated people moving into & staying in the area. Also, the amount of educational programs companies are implementing to help provide even more opportunities for employers & employee's.
Bid Bend Community College has a tech Dept. that is truly going to help those individuals interested in fields needing that type of training.
Many Companies are interested in this area for the cheap power & multiple transportation choices.

Potentially good place to retire? Lousy place to g - 5/28/2006
Moses Lake may be a great place to retire but it is a lousy place to grow up. There is very little for kids to do, less for young adults {hence the meth and other drug problems. There is a movie theater, aquatic center, batting cages {multiple park with baseball fields... hippy yay :-( } an ice skating rink for winter use and that about sums it up. If you are an adult you can hand out at one of the many bars or taverns or waste your money away at one of the two casinos.

The schools are newly remodeled but the problems still remain... teachers that are there for a paycheck and lord forbid that they step outside of the box and actually teach and take the time to realize that no one child is the same. I've been through the school system here. I am very disappointed and I absolutely will not allow my children to be exposed to such one-sided piss-poor pseudo-teachers that lack creativity, ingenuity and intelligence {looking in the back of the book for the answers IS NOT Read More
