One of the better places to raise a family - 8/18/2021
I came to Pullman in 2014 as a student, and I've been here since. I bought a house here this year and like many other places, there's a lot of crappy overpriced homes. That said, Pullman is a great place to raise a family. It's starting to get a little big for its britches with all the college students creating traffic, but it's a sweet spot between a small town and a small city. There's plenty to do, but you do end up knowing everyone after awhile, which can be annoying. All in all, decent place to live. Read More

Since Pullman is a college town the average education level of community members if fairly high. As a result education is valued here more highly than in other places I have lived, and the school system is Read More

My husband and I are both tenure-track professors at Washington State University and should be grateful to have two great jobs at the same university; however, we just don't like living in Pullman. . .or Eastern Washington for that matter. After 5 years, we are looking to move and considering giving up one career. We've made great friends here, and it has been an easy place to have young kids (2 and 5 years old now). If you like small towns, seeing everyone you know everywhere, and long drives to the city, Pullman is for you. We, on the other hand, prefer a bit more privacy and closer proximity to the city and the Read More

Fabulous community for young families and kids. It is a very low key atmosphere with all the culture, activities and services of a larger town. We don't have every amenity but the best attributes for kids are:
Indoor Aqua Center (yr round swimming)
Beasley Coliseum Event center- shows, sporting events
Science Center
Dance Class/Gym Classes
Great Schools
Fair amt of parks w/fairly new climbing structures
July 4th old fashioned BBQ/Celebration in the park
Lots of community events-Lentil Festival, Christmas Parades
Great Healthcare/Kid doctors

Hope that helps!Read More

Great Education - 5/18/2006
Pullman is a great place to live, but the best part is the excellent schools. My first child is 10 and loves his school and teachers. Pullman is also a Pac 10 college town which graduates teachers every year, this lets Pullman get the cream of the crop. On top of the schools, Pullman is a great place to raise a family because it is safe, quiet, small, and has great summers. There is lots of outdoor activites within 30 Read More
