Small town w/ quick access to city life - 6/21/2008
Woodinville retains the flavor of small town, but is only minutes away from the conveniences of downtown Seattle or Bellevue. Unfortunately, being so close to these cities and within umbrella of Boeing & Microsoft, the cost of housing & living is quickly rising.

I really enjoy having each of the four seasons, but without the extremes in temperature. It's a "lite" version of New England, which is where I grew up.

Re: Why I like my area - 6/2/2008
Woodinville, WA is a small bedroom comunity located about 15 miles Northesat of Seattle. The temperature here is on an average 45 degrees in the winter months and 68 degrees in the summer months. To put most conceptions to bed it does not rain here most of the time, but it is cloudy and overcasted a lot of the winter months. I'll trade this for not having freezing weather and piles of snow to deal with all winter. Driving distance to Seattle is less than 30 minutes during traffic times and much less on off peat times. Boating is our passion and most people here have a boat of some size. Out door recreation is big, hiking, mountain climbing, which are an hour away, skiing, bicycling, all sports and walking. Cost of living here is moderate with new houses poping up every Read More

Why Woodinville? - 6/1/2008
Most people think of Molbaks Nursery when the city of Woodinville is mentioned. But, there is so much more to this small city than just a great nursery. Woodinville has become a destination for wine connoisseurs with several well known wineries opening up shop here. Additionally, the Herb Farm, once located in Fall City has been operating in Woodinville for several years now. Add to these fantastic retail venues the miles of walking and biking trails, county parks and lakes, and affordable(relatively speaking) housing, and there's no better place to be.

Most of the residents in Woodinville commute to the major business locations in Redmond (home of Microsoft), Bellevue and Seattle. The average commute time to downtown Bellevue during non-commute hours is about 20 minutes, or 30 minutes to Seattle. The median home price in 2007 was $516,000, up from $366,500 in Read More
